Prior surface mount experience preferred, but will train the right individual who has a background in electronics. After training, the employee must possess a sufficient understanding of surface mount machine operations and the ability to learn and retain the knowledge of the processes associated with the surface mount operation. Those processes include machine setup, loading new programs into the computer, stenciling processes (glue and paste), the re-flow oven operation and also periodic maintenance of the SMT machines. The employee must be able to read and comprehend drawings, bill of materials and other provided product information. Using learned skills and reason, complete the surface mount assembly within a reasonable time, under normal supervision. The employee may be asked to assist with assembly in other departments.
The physical requirements for the surface mount operator is to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee must be capable of hand assembly and may be required to use hand tools and power tools. Job assembly may require standing or sitting.
